S4S 2023 | Athens. Science for Society

PRESS RELEASE

XENIOS POLIS, Euroergasiaki and Center for Social Innovation (CSI, Cyprus) organized the two-day conference: S4S 2023 | Athens. Science for Society October 30 & 31, 2023 at the Amphitheatre of the Ministry of Digital Governance, 11 Fragkoudi, Athens, 10163.

S4S ’23 aims to link cutting-edge scientific research with the satisfaction of social needs, aligns with the European Union’s policies for social cohesion and support for vulnerable social groups, and invests in the hopes generated by technological progress. The conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Governance of Greece, the Panteion University, Cultural Informatics, Data and Computational, while it is supported by the University of Western Attica, Department of Public Health Policy, the National School of Public Administration and the University of Neapolis Pafos.

Day 1

“Digital Transformation and Social Cohesion. Artificial Intelligence and Gamification Technologies at the Service of Society”

The conference was attended by speakers:

• Minister of Labor and Social Security, Mr. Adonis-Spyridon Georgiadis,
• Minister of Digital Governance, Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou and
• Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Mrs. Sofia Zacharaki.

The event was welcomed by the Rector of the Panteion University, Professor Christina Koulouri and the Rector of the University of Neapolis Paphos, Professor Pantelis Sklias.

It also included speeches by leading scientists and professionals from Greece and abroad.

The coordination and presentation were carried out by the journalist, Mrs. Chrysa Foskolou.

Day 2

Development of initiatives and international collaborations

On the second day, 35 representatives of organizations/entities from 14 European countries presented proposals and initiatives for international collaborations that will promote new approaches to social welfare and empowerment.

The S4S 2023 conference was a significant opportunity for the exchange of ideas and the development of collaborations between organizations from Greece Cyprus and Europe, with the aim of strengthening social cohesion and addressing contemporary social challenges.
